Here you will find pictures of my fishing
adventures within British Columbia, Canada.
Since I am an avid fisherman, I have been
fortunate enough to have visited numerous fishing lodges within
British Columbia, many of them in the company of fly fisherman
such as Tom Johannesen and Mark
Pendlington as a matter of fact I would not have
made to some of these destinations if they did
not insist I accompany them.
As some of you may know, Tom regularly has guest
appearances on the television series Sportfishing B.C
,and he writes fly fishing articles for magazines such as British Columbia Sport
Fishing and the Outdoor Edge and Mark
Pendlington hoststhe Sportfishing BC TV series on the Knowledge
network
.The fishing
part of the web site is meant to be fun, showing the
places I have been and photographed.
I am no biologist so I don't claim to be all
knowing about fishing or the industry as whole.
There are many websites, books, magazines out there
if you want to know about setting the hook and ripping
some lip.
Most of the people with exception to Mark P all work at
regular jobs and salivate at the at the chance to get
out on the water and relax on the weekends and that's
what part of what my site is (reelguysfishing)
about. I don't hook a lot of fish but I try.
Photography is my passion along with getting out on the
water throwing out fly or getting down with a hoochie.
For some of you who come to the site and have seen very
little changes, it's on account of that brain injury I
had from a hemorrhagic stroke two days after getting
back from taking the photos below at Telegraph Cove
shown in the pictures below.
So needless to say that I cannot get out on the salt
like I used to. I am confined to the flat clear waters
of the Interior of B.C.
At 48 yrs of age it was sure a kick in the butt to be
confined to one floor of the house and my bed all day.
About three months into my therapy my good friend Tom Johannesen
helped me with some yard work and home hobbies and
started to teach me how to tie some basic fly patterns,
so thanks to him and his encouragement I started to
enjoy this past-time and a tidy yard and garden helped
me look forward to the new season of getting on the
lakes, with a lot of help from my wife and friends I was
in the fresh sweet air again
.
Go to the links
below and see what they have to offer as they have been
very helpful in getting me on the water.
PS. If some women send me some quality
photos ,first name and the lake or ocean you landed your
fish I will post it. Guys too.
These photos were taken at
Cracroft Point in Johnstone Straight just south east of Telegraph Cove.
The first full day out we ventured up Clio channel toward Knight Inlet and
dropped
by to see Wayne Bazen at Chinook Cove Lodge floating fishing camp.
Wayne had cleaned up camp was getting ready to turn the lodge over to the
new
owners.
We were lucky to get a chance to see Wayne and the camp in
such great shape especially after a busy season comings and goings, So we
walked around and chatted with Wayne and he showed us around and had a
look at all the changes that have been prior to his departure to go Live
in Winter Harbour. After
our good lucks and good buys we moved on to try our luck a few minutes
from
Waynes Lodge up in Knight Inlet.
After few with hours no bites and the
weather and currents starting to deteriorate we decided it be best to roll
up the downriggers and get a move on back to Telegraph Cove have dinner, light a fire and show that case of Kokanee who's the boss.
All fish were photographed and safely released.
Until next time, Tight lines......
Thanks
to Bill and Brian for sending the photos that
they took on an outing in the Fraser Valley last week.
Nov. 2005
Beautiful specimens and all the beauties were released.
Way to go guys and thanks for the photos.
Dec.23,2006
Bill strikes it rich in the Fraser Valley again.
Brian and Bill were at it in the pouring rain
while everyone was sitting at home polishing
there rods and watching hockey. You were told
the rivers were blown out .
The rivers were up high and like me, you believed
the fish were waxing there fins stuck behind a
rock, well it shows how wrong we can be .Check
out the photos they brought home to mama.
It is Jan.16th,2006 and Bill with his
father are still landing cutty's in the in the
Fraser Valley.
It's just going to get better. I hope I can make
it out.
